World's First Fuel-Cell Motorcycle
http://www.rubbermag.com/news/050315_04n.html

Quote:Alex writes "Rubber Magazine reports that the British company Intelligent Energy has unveiled today the first purpose-built, fuel-cell motorbike. The bike has a 6kW (8 hp) electric motor, top speed of 50 mph (80kph), a range of 100 miles (160km). The engine is completely silent, which might not go well with many motorcycle lovers. In addition it could also possibly pose an interesting safety issue, since a pedestrian or motorist would not hear it coming."

Google Launches Google Code

Quote:ibjhb writes "Google is at it again and has launched Google Code. It appears to be "Google's place for Open Source software". " Can't say that I'm surprised that our old friend (and former Slashdot Author) Chris DiBona is working on this one. They have links to several open source projects, as well as to Google API information.

Lab-Made Fireball May Be a Black Hole
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/4357613.stm
Quote:MoogMan writes "BBC News reports that a lab fireball may be a black hole. From the article: "A fireball created in a US particle accelerator has the characteristics of a black hole, a physicist has said. The Brown researcher thinks the particles are disappearing into the fireball's core and reappearing as thermal radiation, just as matter falls into a black hole and comes out as "Hawking" radiation." More information available from the NewScientist article (subscription required)."

CSS Support Could Be IE7's Weakest Link
http://www.microsoft-watch.com/article2/0,...,1776935,00.asp
Quote:Ritalin16 writes "Many web developers may be disappointed to hear that Microsoft decided to hold off on full CSS2 support with IE 7.0. As said by Microsoft-Watch: 'One partner said that Microsoft considers CSS2 to be a flawed standard and that the company is waiting for a later point release, such as CSS2.1 or CSS3, before throwing its complete support behind it.'" More commentary available from ZDNet. Generally related to the IE 7 Acid Test thrown down by Opera.

TV Show About The Scene
http://www.welcometothescene.com
Quote:boingyzain writes "A few guys have gotten together to create a downloadable 'television show' about The Scene--the underground network of suppliers, rippers, and coders who bring pirated releases to the warez crowd. Each episode follows the happenings of Drosnan, the founder of a large release group, through numerous scene releases. It's been so successful that it has even spawned a spoof named Teh Scene; imitation is the best form of flattery, isn't it?"

Spammers Sue Spam Victim For $4 Million

Quote:fronck writes "Self-declared anti-spammer Mark Mumma, a web hosting and email service provider, has apparently been sued for just under $4 million by cruise.com and their parent company Omega World Travel after they were ordered to stop sending him emails and comply with Oklahoma's CAN-SPAM act. Mumma intends to see the trial through court and meanwhile the spam continues unabated. More insight available at Ars Technica."

And thats what was on there just today... I really hope the spammers don't win (can't see how but we are talking about the crazy courts here) cause if they do then everyone will be open to being sued by spammers.
Read the suit filed, looks like the spammie was being a threatening pita from the get go, yeah they spammed him and I do think he might not have asked for the information, but he is being irrational from the get go and looking to sue and using illegal methods to get his point across. If he were serious about suing he would have filed in court not just threatened and then asked for a settlement prior to filing, now the state of Virginia has jurisdiction and his threats about OK laws are irrelavant.

He started the petty "I'll sue you" BS that we can't afford in our legal system, it just came back and bit him in the butt.
