I played with myself a few months ago. :unsure:
Nobody ever joined in.

Haven't even loaded up steam since then.

Think I'm probably the only one who still plays or at least it's been a few months since I've seen anyone from the old guard.
The new group who's taken taken over have their own steam community the Nameless Ricochet Association or NRA.
It's a public group so you can join it if you're looking for decent people to play with though it's worth noting that most people play dm1 now instead of arena.

I can't play until i buy another joystick.
A few of the buttons stopped working on my other one so I threw it out.

I'm still playing some arena..if I find a worthy opponent, which is pretty hard these days

No more Rico for me unless its for some special reason. Then again thats the way its been for me for a few years now.

On the PC side as of right now I most play Team Fortress 2 with some Left 4 Dead and a dash of UT2004. If I am not on the PC I am on my 360 playing a variety of stuff.

Nope. When I have time to play video games it's going be TF2.

On a lighter note, I got a message from someone a couple weeks ago about mapping for ricochet. He downloaded stalkyard from here and asked me how to get into mapping. New maps on the way?

the specialist servers are down so we can always add another game that holdouts offers if anyone has a special request

I retired since most of the people that play just spam push discs and think that makes them pro. Plus it's a lot less social and not as fun.

My computer's just not up to snuff anymore... all I play is my xbox 360 now... now if they could have included ricochet in the orange box... ohhhhh man.:)

Aquaboxio we did have a blast when we were going strong, we had a full server almost every night with admins out the ass to make sure everything ran smooth and man it was a good time, I have to say it did run its course in the community and people got into other games. I think it is possible to get enough interest in a new generation of Rico players to get back to what we had but it will take a lot of time and work and GRITS was the backbone of the whole operation when we did it, she had great ideas and some others had some also and she made them work. If you take a look at past tournys and the prizes to boot it was awesome. It would be cool to see a new community spring up and I for one would swing by to check it out. I do miss the times we had playing arena and we had a couple of rico reunions that turned out pretty good. So I guess what I am saying is if you did get a little organized and posted a night that your community was going to be on I am sure you could get some of us to show up.(i for one would) I loved our community and miss the times we had and look back thru the forums every so often to remember the good times and the people. I was never a very good player but everyone always made everyone else feel welcome when they logged on and we had rules about not making fun of new people and trying to help them if they were noobs so they would want to log back on the next day and get a little better and add to the population, so a word of advice, dont let people be mean to new people, take them under your wing and help them so they want to come back and be a part. I am rambling on I know but I am waiting in Q to log on to world of warcraft and have nothing else to do:lol:

I just played my first game of arena in a long time. Granted it was against a "player" but it was still fun. Forgot how simple/amusing this game is.

Aqua, you guys should switch over to Arena instead of deathmatch. Then you might see me back.:)

Side note, Someone just released a new map called colluseum1 (sp?) I checked it out and its pretty good. Better than any map I made. I think it's still cursed with the custom map feel instead of the official map smoothness, but overall nicely done.

Also, I was playing on Grits' 24/7 arena. I got whitedisc. I thought we fixed whitedisc.

After playing for a little bit and seeing other people come in, and going right into a game, Im guessing our custom server.dll is not loaded.

Rico was fun and I would enjoy playing it again, only problem is that everyone is into deathmatch. If some community was to come into arena, I am sure the KFC will be there.

one big problem of deathmatch is &quot;roof-camping&quot; - so i think it would be much better
when both players respawn after a kill downstairs again - but not after &quot;falling&quot;!
perhaps its possible to do by an amxx plugin - maybe someone else knows a better way
to do (miagi ?;))

1vs1 dm tourney? We had more so we didn't really worry about top camping. But you can just have the admins as a &quot;ref&quot; and tell the winner to jump to the bottom pad and tell them when to start again.

jap i know - but with a plugin there wouldnt be a chance for discussions later..and i thought it would look much more professional...and matches will be done faster - instead of waiting for ref-commands.
