CS 1.6 - Guest - 09-16-2003 Hmm... ME has similar relations to STEAM, because people looked at ME, newbs took it and experienced people just went backwards to 98 SE...:) CS 1.6 - [CAKE]anonymity - 09-16-2003 is there another way to go back without reformating your hd? CS 1.6 - Guest - 09-17-2003 Yes. Uninstall STEAM... copy any custom maps you might have. Uninstall HL (if you still have it present). Delete any \STEAM or \SIERRA\Half-LIfe or \SIERRA\C-Strike folders and then start from the beginning... don't forget to download that full 1.1.1.0 patch. CS 1.6 - PuNkGirL - 09-17-2003 don't forget to edit your registry CS 1.6 - Guest - 09-17-2003 Good point, and yes I forgot to mention that... because I just assume that as part of what I do... because I do it automatically... HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Steam and possibly also HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Steam If you have multiple users, you might need to delete it for each user, but I can't be arsed explaining how to do that here. CS 1.6 - [CAKE]anonymity - 09-17-2003 i meant the operating system. CS 1.6 - Guest - 09-17-2003 Windows ME/2K/XP all have what are known as restore points... Boot to safe mode and it'll restore any system critical files if you ask it to. |
