It's fake.
It changes the direction it's going in after a random ammount of time.

Nope...it doesn't change.
It's an animated GIF file. The pattern is constant.
Get multiple people in the room and have them tell you which way it's spinning.
You'll hear different responses.

Scrye is right though.
Left-brain thinkers will tend to see it spinning counter-clockwise.
Right-brainers see it clockwise.

If you concentrate hard enough, you can make it "switch directions"

no way..it has to change direction...i'm watching the toes and the arms and i've seen it change twice. first counter-clockwise, then clockwise then it went back again. part of me believes that's it's an illusion but another part says that it's just switching it's direction.

edit: never mind it's real..i'm changing it at will now... weird. It's hard to change when I stare at the body but if i focus on the grounded toes it's easy.

block her feet and you will see she never changes once you see it one way until you look at her feet then it can change
and if you just watch the feet, she seems to just rock back and forth and not go all the way around at all

alright not fake. still just an optical illusion though.

There is a correct answer, and I'd give it away, but it's so much more fun if people figure it out for themselves.
