What you have to do is to make a running start against the opponien, then jump up in air, turn around in air and make a backkick....
Without the powerup will your opponien stand back with only 39HP if he had 100HP
With the powerup would you opponien die

Stunt Guide

Quickening

This was originally wrote by Mew. He was an amazing player, so I've heard. Been a long time since anyone has seen him.

Quote:1.. Check your free slots. Free slots are indicated on to bottom left corner
of your screen. The more slots you got, the faster you are and the more
stunts you can do. If you have more than 60 free slots, you can do all the
stunts avaliable. if you have more than 40, you can do all a but the top
stunts, and if you have less than 40, you can only do the lowest stunts.

2. Notice the "curve" on the left side of your crosshair. See that there is a
small dot on the curve which moves as you look up and down. Also notice
that the curve is divided in 3 sectors.

3. When the small dot is in the bottom sector, you do low stunts. When it's
in the center sector you do mid-height stunts, and when it's in the top
sector you do high stunts.

4. If one of the sectors is red, you cannot do the stunts of that type.

5. A few examples:
If you have over 61 free slots, you run forward look up so that the small
dot is in the top sector of the curve and doubletap jump, you do a full flip
and land on your feet.

If you do the same but press the stunt button, you do a high dive.

If you do the same but have the dot in the middle sector and doubletap
jump, you do a 3/4 flip and land on your back.
If you do this with a stunt button, you do a mid-height dive.

If you doubletap jump with the dot in the lowest sector, you do a low 3/4
flip and land on your back.
If you do that with a dive button you do a low dive but it slides a lot
more than the other stunts. So this can be useful for suprising ppl
around the corner by sliding on the ground. Very Happy

Edited

Oh i forgot. If you hold down the stunt/jump button as you come down
from a stunt, you do a roll off it which makes you continue your movement
and doesn't leave you voulnerable lying on the ground while getting up.

JumpDive

If you need to go really high, you can do this:

Run, then jump (let the jump rise to the point when its almost coming
down) and then dive having the small dot in the top sector.

this way, you can even jump over the shelf in ts_metro in the hall with a
Part 2, created for TS 2.0

Quote:Ok, a lot of people ask me about the boostdive and all that stuff i do in the movies,
so i figured the easiest way to do this is to just make a big thread about it.

So now im gonna teach every single stunt i know.
I will try to be as specific as possible. If something doesnt hit you, ask.

BASICS

you need to have jump, duck and the stunt buttons in good places
so that you can press them comfortably at the same time with the movement buttons
without having to move or twist your wrist or anything.
just so that it goes smoothly wihtout too much thinking.

i show you how _I_ do the stunts. try them first EXACTLY as i do them.
then when/if you get them like that, you can try do the in other ways.
this is just coz a lot of people seem to have troubles doing stuff as i say.

IMPORTANT

Get femiliar with the small 1/2 circle on the left side of your crosshair.
That is a very important aspect of trickjumping in TS, for it indicates what kind
of a stunt you are about to do.
Notice that there is a small dot in the curve moving up and down as you look up and down.

HIGHT STUNT
MIDDLE STUNT
LOW STUNT

Also remember, that you need to have OVER 59 free slots to do the TOP stunt.
If you have less than that, the top sector is RED indicating it is out of use.

SETTINGS

I do all this stuff with default settings, so when you try these, just make a lan
server and dont change any of the settings. if you do, that is concidered "cheating."

JUMPDIVE

This is the first real "stunt" i learned in TS. It is a simple combination of jump and dive.
when used correctly, it can get you pretty high.

All you need to do is JUMP and then DIVE (top)
The trick in this is to get the right time between the jump and the dive.
In other words, the delay between the jump and the dive controls the height of the stunt.

DEMO: jumpdive ( you need winrar to unpack the file )

ADVANCED CLIMBING

Here is a demo where i complete the climbing section of ts_agility in 28 seconds. icon_smile.gif

Ok the point is just to run, jump and then look at the wall and press jump.
you see me catching the small pilars while already falling down.
well, i do that by just tapping jump rapidly, so when im at the right distance, it climbs.

with the really weird stunts its all about knowing how to control the movement in midair. icon_razz.gif

DEMO: climbing
( you need ts_agility.bsp to watch the demo. download it HERE. )

BOOSTDIVE
(NOTE: Boostdive works better the more slots you have. because the more slots you have, the faster you run. icon_smile.gif

its is identical to the CIRCULAR STRAFEJUMP in quake1, quake2, quake3, cs, hldm etc.
only that you DIVE instead of jump.

Watch the demo first, and then i'll explain it. its easier this way.

DEMO: boostdive

Watched it? Good...
Ok, notice how i am in a 90 degree angle to the direction i want to dive to.
Then i start running forward, then i press down strafe left (without letting go of forward)
so now i am pressing FORWARD and STRAFE LEFT. at the same time i press down strafe left,
i start turning left.
i turn 90 degrees until i am facing the direction i want to dive to. Then i dive looking up.
Now it doesnt matter WHEN you look up, all that matters that you are looking up at the time you press DIVE.

The trick is to get the "circle" to be the right size and that the speed of the turn is just right.

This might take a while to master, but im sure you can do it. : )

RUNNING BOOSTDIVE

This is a running version of the boostdive. it is a bit easier in my opinion,
but it doesnt give you the same length.

Watch the demo first, and i'll explain later.

DEMO: running boostdive

Ok, that might have seemed a bit confusing, but let me clear it up.
Now all i seemed to do was run, twist my mouse a bit and then i could "fly", right?

Well, actually what i did, was i did a thing very similar to the regular boostdive, but i did it twice.
First i ran forward, then i did a small strafe right and at the same time turning right.
and right after that i did the same thing left. (strafe left and a turn left)

so actually i did an S kind of a movement. a kind of a half of the circle i do in the regular boostdive,
but i did two of them and the other was a reversed one (in direction).

This can be a bit harder to understand, but it certainly is easier to do than boostdive.

you can actually do it without turning at all, but that doesnt give as much length, but thats a start.
so just run, tap both strafes and then dive. you should be able to go over that same gap i did it over.

SUPERBOOSTDIVE

Ok, this is the hard version of boostdive, but it gets you REEEALLY far.
its exactly like boostdive, but you tap duck just before you dive.
the trick is to get the timing between the duck and dive just right.

this is gonna take a lot of practice, and is pretty much useless in dm. icon_smile.gif

DEMO: here
( you need ts_agility.bsp to watch the demo. download it HERE. )

** TO BE CONTINUED **

I hope that will help you to do the stuff i do. As i always say to the people i teach,
"It's all easy if you know what to do."
and thats true. these tricks dont require good timing of an accurate mouse hand...just knowlede.
I posted this because I found it handy, but the original forums were taken down so that I could not get to this guide anymore. I put it here so I could once again find it for future reference, and you guys may find it useful also.
I would also recommend downloading ts_awaken (http://halflife2.filefront.com/file.info?ID=17229)
a map designed by Mew and created by Wokki. It is a stunt map made to test your stunting skills and it is fantastic. I've played this before, and some of you may have also. If it's possible, I would like it put on the custom maps server. Very Happy It's mostly good old fashioned solo fun but it can be fun with some friends.

Run, then jump (let the jump rise to the point when its almost coming
down) and then dive having the small dot in the top sector.

this way, you can even jump over the shelf in ts_metro in the hall with a
lot of boxes.

Feel free to add anything i forgot or dont know.
