I will also post this in the Announcements section for people who who can't see the General section due to them forgetting their passwords to login.

Some of you may ask why bother with the hassle and some may not care, but I guess I still have some level of caring and interest to keep in touch with more of you even though this community for the most part shit the bed a good number of years ago.

As of now Miagi is the only one I still talk to on a frequent basis in IRC or in games. After him you have 8-up who is there regularly and a random select couple who pop up from time to time. Sadly GRITS has been gone for so long I don't even know if she popped up at all last year. Hope everything is ok.

I wish I could turn back the clock and fix things that made this community fall off the map. I wish I had spoken up more about Gwar and had him removed as a admin if only I was more outspoken back then compared to now. Getting the servers changed over to more popular games was also something we let slide for too long also. We should of had something in place back in 2006 and branched into Team Fortress 2 in 2007 when that hit and took off to what it is today. I personally think we could have survived for a bit longer doing that anyway. We would have needed a better server provider anyway since Holdouts and Stefan were always a pain to deal with. Anybody remember how stupid it was when we couldn't restart our own servers when say a map would crash and had to wait for the auto restart at 6AM the following day? Dumb, Dumb, Dumb.

There is more I could type up, but I want to move on to the point of this whole post.

Because I can't change the past the best I could come up with on the gaming side of things is to make a Steam Group. It is a good way to keep in touch with each other compared to these obsolete forums. We have access to group chat and group mic chat and it doesn't matter now what games people play since Steam is loaded with so many now compared to 2006-07. Even for those people currently playing non Steam enabled games which are mostly Blizzard games that fall under that category I would like you to join if possible just for old times sake.

I have yet to actually create the group since I want to get friends added first. Once I can get a small handful then I will go ahead and do so. Creating the group only takes a couple minutes. Getting people to join since we have been so spread apart for a good 5 years is the hard part.

I only have a few people from the past currently on my friends list besides Miagi. Quickening, Noose, and EvilCowEater are three that I also have on my list. I sent a friend request out to "vadavaka" which I assume is GRITS and to Wha? who are two accounts I knew off hand. They have not been logged into Steam for months so I am being cautiously optimistic and hope they see the requests.

I really hope there are a bunch more out there that might care. This works as a line of communication and to keep in touch with each other on a more frequent basis instead of the maybe once or twice a year that seems to be the norm with these forums.

Forums back up

For those who still come to the forums and were wondering why you were getting an IPS driver error, the website crashed and was quickly brought back from a backup by stefan. That man rules.

The forums didn't come back up because there was an error in one of the tables that I had to repair with a simple command.

Forums have been upgraded. As a result, the skins we downloaded do not work with these forums. So we have to use default until we can find more skins.

Xbox 360 Gamertags added to profiles

I added a new profile setting to the forums for Xbox 360 Gamertags. Go to "My Controls" near the top of the page and then under the Profile section click on "Edit Profile". You will see a new field titled "Gamertag". All anybody who has a valid Xbox account (Free Silver or Pay Gold) has to do is enter their tag name and the rest is done for you. You will see your Gamertag under your name in the forums like mine currently is.

All the info is taken from Microsoft so it is updated in real time as your current games played or Gamerscore change.

This probaly currently pretains to Quick, Frooty, and myself, but the option is now there in case anybody else jumps on board and plays the same stuff as us 3. Just trying to put some feelers out there for reasons I personally do not want to get into right now. Enjoy:thumb:

Tournament Begins

You will be required to sign in under the rules so that I know you read them and that you know how to make a demo

The tiers and brackets will be posted Sunday

The first tournament will be the Arena one followed by a DM tournament.
The registration for the Arena tournament is closed, please help to get the information out about the DM tournament. There are a lot of new DM players out there, lets see how good you really are ....the competition is intense.

New Skins & Upcoming "Surprise"

I thought I found more than 6 skins, but I guess I was wrong. Six skins, mostly dark, were imported. If anyone knows of any site besides invisionize.com that offers free IPB 2.1x skins, send the link.

Also, since we have the forums upgraded again, I guess I can soon unveil something we have been working on. I did the physical work, the senior admins did the "see what Miagi screwed up." I gave some people in IRC a look at it already, so they know what it is. It should be ready by tonight or tomorrow. If I feel like a perfectionist tonight, then tomorrow night it is. Or should I say morning for Europeans?

ARENA Server Moves

Happy Thanksgiving!

I apologize in advance, but I need to move the 24/7 Arena ricochet
server from game11.holdouts.com to game1.holdouts.com this morning. I
want to put all games on blade server because I have some clients
that want to rent dedicated boxes. I don't want them on my blade
server, so moving all my game folks to it. Everything should be the
same except the IP.

Thanks and sorry about the late notice. All these clients have to
have stuff today. As matter of fact I will probably have to drive
downtown sometime today.

it is so much fun and adds a new dimension to the game
you would think this would finally get valve's attention but Im thinking probably not

I know miagi and pique were working on it at different times, not sure who is responsible for all the work maybe you guys can do a little patting your own back so we have the history of the 2v2 game here
