my video card is shot

the electricity went out the other night while I was playing KE and this is what my video looks like now
I am going to try and roll back my driver or reinstall but I might need a new videocard

works ok in ricochet but not KE, I might try HL2 see what happens there

I think a driver reinstall should do the trick, and if not that then try disabling the video card then re-enabling in the device manager.

I just think if your video card really were fried, it wouldn't be working at all, sometimes hardware can mess up when the computer crashes/shuts off unexpectedly. Hopefully that's the case here, and you're lucky that it didn't mess up more:)

Thats not always true, my video card went and it diddent go all the way. I would have some things not render or render wrong. Like when i was playing vice city i would run into telephone poles that werent rendered. But i think what happened with my card is a rareity.

Have you tried reinstalling ke?

if the power went out whilst playing it, it could have messed a game file up that was in use.

And smart, yours sounds like it got static shocked
That can slowly destroy a vid card or any piece of hard wear for that matter.

dont bother with a reinstall, uninstall should work fine.
