About 5km far from my village, there was a gas leak detected at 8:30 CET (2:30 EST). 30 minutes later, I woke up: explosions occured killing 15 ppl and injuring 112 others. My brother is working there but he is safe.
Quote:The explosion tore through a section of the underground line carrying gas from the Belgian port of Zeebrugge to northern France as repair men were working to plug a leak, a spokesman for the agency said.

There are also videos on the left of the page:

Actually debris have been found 6km (5miles) away from the explosion:blink:

And this is why I don't like the idea of having natural gas lines anywhere near me. Someone screws up or a leak happens and stuff half a mile away can be screwed just from the flame, 5 to 10 km for debre thrown into the air.

bad mistake. i hope this won't happen again.

i don't live near a town so we don't have such big gas lines here.
