bit of a problem

Sorry to come to you guys with a problem when I haven't talked to you much for a while, but its steam related and I despair of the steam forums people giving any help.

I reinstalled steam recently, and all was going well (although I could rarely find anyone on the rico servers) until the new update.

Now, whenever I try to log on, I get this message "Platform Error: bad module Friends/friendsUI.dll could not load". Tried everything on the steam forums related to the problem, and then some more. Tried a standard reinstall. Haven't yet tried a clean install, since I don't really want to have to reinstall everything within a few short weeks of having done that.

Anyone had this problem, fixed it maybe??

I don't think its a firewall problem. I'm pretty sure (after many checks) that it isnt a malware problem. To be honest, I'm stuck.
