On a side note, they are not setting up a pay to play online system, if you actually read the steampowered.com homepage, you would understand this. No, the SDK will be released before Half-life 2 is, so calm down and stop making up excuses. I seriously doubt you even know what C++ is, since you lack proper language skills. Mods are not created by illiterate morons with ADHD that can't keep focus for 1.5 seconds. Then these "m4d h4x0rZ m@Pp3rz" that hang out in the half-life 2 channels, shut up and sit down idiot. They'll talk about logic and Valve owing them everything. How they'll get a head start on mapping and give the community a better experience. Then they'll say something like, "Oh shit man, I've got an entire 100 GB drive filled with pr0n."

There are several things wrong with this:
1. Anyone that wastes money on a 100 GB drive only for pornography should have toothpicks shoved underneath their fingernails.
2. About 5 seconds later, 20 people did the emote command and high fived him.
3. In the amount of time it took for you to fill up your 100 GB drive with pornography, anyone could have gotten laid 101 times.
4. You know there's no hope for humanity when some little shit gets a 100 GB drive to use on pornography while I can barely afford a new mouse.
5. Porn is not spelled with a zero and a misplaced N.
6. This is tomorrow's leaders ladies and gentlemen, the future is going to be bright.
7. Suicide is looking more attractive every day.

Now, onto completely irrelevant matters.

My problem with this is that I do believe in helping people if they really need it, like for education. HOWEVER, I think it should be based on class/economic status rather than race.

I agree, I think race has no place in education, but you have to take the good with the bad. Prop 54's negative effects on law enforcement and health care far outweighs it's advantages in education. The Attorney General even stated that this would hurt efforts to prevent/prosecute hate crimes. As for medical care, I stated my opinion on that matter earlier.

The main reason it failed is because minorities DO want discrimination, if it works in their favor.

I seriously doubt that, but let me continue along a more logical route than pure opinion: Anyone wants all the positive effects, but none of the negative ones. It's not like there isn't precedent for this. An example would be that zealous atheist kid down the street that calls anyone that believes in any religion stupid. They're ok with the fact that they get 2 weeks off for Christmas, oops, "Winter" break, but when it comes to any of the negative (Using this term loosely, eye of the beholder yo) effects, they're no where to be seen. Would you rather go through heart surgery awake, or go under the scalpel while knocked out on anesthesia. I'll stick to the extreme usage anesthesia, but if you want to pass on the anesthesia, you receive the small positive effect of living, but feel pain beyond your wildest nightmares.

Targeting an ethnicity to help them does nothing, it can only serve to lower their sense of self-worth by telling them that they need help.

If you base your self-worth on the opinions of others, then I feel the utmost pity for you. It's true that words can/do hurt you more than sticks and stones, but basing your opinion of yourself on the words of some paper pushing bureaucratic punk is stupidity. I'm told us white people can't jump, but I still played JV/Varsity basketball. Nothing more satisfying than proving someone wrong, but that's just me. ;)

All biased ranting aside, the main reason I choose to vote No on Prop 54 was the the nature of the opposition to the bill. While I think ethnicity should not be a factor in education, the people that are opposed to the bill under education aren't exactly nobodies. I've never managed an educational institute, so they probably know something I do not. We then take a look at the pro-prop 54 folks, and their endorsers aren't so spectacular.
