Large salt water mollusks called "geoducks" (for some reason, pronounced 'gooey-duck', not 'geo-duck'). If you're in the coastal Washinton/South BC area, you can go look for some. Not sure about farther south though. Have to dig like hell to get them, cuz they are a good ways down, and burrow further when you start digging. Popular dish in Asia, apparently have a quite a few North American fans.
To get one, you go out at low tide, and look for something burrow-esque. Then you basically push a big bottomless bucket around it to keep the walls of the hole you dig from collapsing. Then you dig. Don't think you need to go very fast, but it probably saves a lot of digging.
