It is a memorial to fallen soldiers It is in Arlington National Cemetery in Washington DC USA and it has the body of a soldier that could not be identified so as to represent all those lost. The structure and its meaning are rich in history and honor. It is actually a tomb of unknowns "soldiers" because over the years and different conflicts they have interred other soldiers who were unidentified. I remember growing up as a little girl and a friend of mine told me her father was buried there. Only after I grew up did I realize that the purpose of the 'unknown soldier' was so that anyone who lost someone in a war could believe that it was their love one that was given this honor for thier loyalty and ultimate sacrifice.
