Bought a new Geforce TI Video Card? How about one of those ATI Radon 8000 Series? They can't use Direct X 9. No patches that I have heard of. Nvidia Has been using Open GL for so long, but with all these games now using shaders in their rendered graphics, Open GL does not and cannot support Shaders. Why care? Many of the newest games, that use These new cool graphics need shaders to make them half way nice to look at. The hardware for many video cards people bought maybe months ago, cannot use direct X 9. The ATI Radon 9600 and 9800 (if you have $500 or know about that cool computer deal on Dell) support Direct X 9. There are other video cards that do use DX9 but I am not sure what they are.

I absolutely can't believe that you would say that. I would assume that you have never typed a line of OpenGL code to hear a statement like that from you. Go here: OpenGL Shading Language. If OpenGL has its own Shading Language, how can you say that it 'does not and cannot support Shaders'. Please don't make ignorant comments like that. As far as your drivers, I find it pretty sad that ATI Radeon 8000's can't support DX 9 but Voodoo 3000's do.

It is a sad day when you HAVE to use Direct3D for your graphics (quality is substandard) instead of Open GL! When is someone going to stand up to Microsoft??
