They should keep a registry of people who purchase it through Steam, and let them download it as many times as they want (only one set of keys per purchase, though).

At least that way people won't be scared out of buying over Steam. That is, unless they work for a Universal Vivendi subsidiary... :unsure:

They do keep track of people who order anything through Steam cause it is tied to your Steam account. If say you had to reformat or got another comp all you would have to is log in and Steam would redownload everything.

Though if you have the ability to burn the GCF files do so to save you the pain and time of downloading everything again.
