i really liked the alternative flicks this year, though many weren't even nominated.
If it were up to me, i'd go for Michel Gondry's / Charlie Kauffman's "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind."
Honestly, it was one of the best films i've ever seen.
Hotel Rwanda was an emotional struggle, but a great film. Out of those that the academy decided to nominate, i would have chosen this one to be the best film.
However: "Sideways" was bland. It had its moments, but overall, it was lacking. By the end of the movie you knew that you saw not enough character refinement, and too much full frontal naked fat men.
Way too much.
