How long did it take you to beat Half-Life?
#1
Just wondering how long it took most people to beat the game, it took me 5 days to beat it from beginning to end, (and cheating doesn't count.) If you remember beating it on an exact amount of time, please specify. :thumb:

Errr... I don't think I actually finished the game !
I was soon playing TFC when the patch came out, never played CounterShite, now play Ricochet and the new mod The Specialists ( which is really really good )

I never finished it. I wanted to play with real people that you didnt know when or where they would show up. I keep being told I should go back..... that you shouldn't go online until you complete the individual game....if I have time to play I have time to socialize and I would rather do it with real people than Barney and chicken headed zombies....wait I take that back...some of my ricochet buds might fall into one of those two categories.:P

I've played through it a couple of times... well... more like 1 and 3/4... I didn't finish it the second time around, I haven't played it in a while. Anyway, I have no idea how long it took me... I didn't like play it a lot, like my primary game or anything, I spent probably weeks just playing a couple hours at a time. I think towards the end I started going wild with it though.

I've never finished it. I got board with single player in any games because the AIs are just so stupid. Its why I hate playing with bots online.

I think in total there are only a few games I have actually finished. Mech Warrior 2 is 1 of them because I was never able to play it online, I didn't have an internet ISP back then.

It's hard for me to remember how long. I know I beat it twice. The first time being almost 5 years ago and the last about 4 years. I think the first time it took me a month. I was going back and forth playing single and multi that's why it took so long. I think the second time it took me a week.

The HL AI was pretty good for its time... well, the grunts had good AI anyway. Hard to kill sometimes. Nonetheless, it's fun.

i was about to say that the AI in half-life was great. i grew up playing metroid and nes games like that where the enemies followed an obvious mathematical pattern or sequence...so seeing the grunts try to flush gordon out w/ grenades, for example, was great. i respect good engineering and the AI in hl is certaintly not "stupid", but rather an achievment. it wasn't long ago that i was impressed that the enemies in quakeII ducked bullets...and hl is miles ahead of that.

anyways, it took me two weekends playing all day pretty much on saturday and sunday. good timing too because i was going through a rough patch w/ this girl. "why do i always get involved with psychos?!" i thought to myself as i was blowing away houndeyes w/ my .357...hmmm  thousands of houndeyes, headcrabs and bullsquids later and i still don't know the answer to that...^_^

Hmm, I've never played Half-Life's single player thing. I probably should do that sometime, but probably won't. I've had the game for awhile.

Ok, this is a sucky question because I was ripped from the jaws of completion ... I was almost at the end... and then my dastardly machine ended up blowing up (CPU + Memory + CD-ROM + Hard Drive + PSU) due to I think a power surge/blow back. After I reinstalled, I just couldn't be arsed to go through it all again, so I got online.:)

I didnt even know there was a single player game that was like playing on line. they had some dumb practice thing for counter strike that I tried to do but it got boring real fast, anyway I was introduced to the game online so I never really thought about just playing bots.
