World of warcraft. I just bought it on friday, now while Apperently I can't play HL2, I can still play WoW. And I would just like to go on the record to say that I just lost my entire weekend to it (except saturday night where I went out to the club). It's AWESOME!

I played the beta and enjoyed it. I do not plan to buy it though since spending $15 a month would be a waste for me considering how little time I would be able to actually put into these types of games.

The purchase price of the game itself doesn't cover the cost of maintaining the servers it takes to support an MMORPG. That's the argument I always hear at least.

I can understand that to some extent but I would have a hard time feeding money into a computer game every month.

Hmm well theres a MMORPG called Guild Wars coming soon and it doesn't have a monthly fee , Blizzard who made WoW have been funding it so I'm hoping its gonna be good. At least to the poor people.

well from what i hear WoW is cheaper than evercrack 2 sitting at 20 bux a month. And I used to have that rule where I don't play a game that I have to buy and pay to play, but this gamelooked so cool and besides its blizzard. They never fail to impress. When it comes out (despite over all dislack of interest in it from everyone else) I'm gonna get and play SC Ghost.

Anarchy Online was a game I was hooked, and still am but don't play much anymore due to my connection. It was only 10 or so dollars a month and saw that taking a mere 10 dollars out of my check per month really didn't hurt me that bad, i just think of it as a haircut i didnt want that week.

I tend to play runescape on the grounds that its free and im poor. I cant even use the haircut idea because i havent cut it in roughly... er... about 8 months i think and i only got it cut then cos it was that or wear a hairnet at work.

Trouble is.... with free rpgs you get a fair few, whats the best term.... ill be mild and use the phrase annoying lifeless muppets who think nothings more fun than scamming, hacking accounts and generally annoying me (eg. a guy recently who decided he had nothing better to do than follow me for an entire evening, even catching me when i logged out and in again.)

At least you can get away with anything you want while the old man sits by his computer all night trying to level up his elf.

He'll probably also need to search for the "Scroll of Kind Spouse" pretty soon.
