Hey I know you two know how to go about making videos and stuff, so I was wondering how to turn a dem into an avi format. Hope I didnt miss an earlier topic, thank-you!:thumb::smurf:

You can't just straight away turn a .dem to an .avi but here's a group I used to work with and we had some badass tutorials. So check this site out and come back with questions.

you dl a prog called "GeekPlay"...you search for the .dem on your harddrive..then locate your hl.exe...then you put a check mark in the box that says "StartMovie" then press play...what this does it makes pics "frame by frame" and put them into your hl folder...if its a long video you are gonna have lots and lots of pics..then you dl a prog called "VideoMach"..just select all the pics and add them into the prog...then you just convert..simple as that:) http://www.planetfortress.com/hlmp/hlmp2-b...icle.asp?ID=366

Convert the resolution though... for some reason I can't convert the resolution, and making a movie from an assload of 1024x768 bmp's is gonna take a long time and a lot of space. Interestingly enough, I play HL in 800x600, and it still makes the bmp's the larger resolution. Anyway, I read somewhere to use 640x480 and a framerate of about 30.
