If Bush is reelected, I wonder what excuse he is gonna find this time... maybe that France didn't help them killing the Iraqis so they are cowards therefore they don't deserve to live? Or maybe, there are too many Muslims in France... and since they protect them they are terrorists?
I hope Bush won't read that cause it could give him ideas:unsure:
Anyway, I hope the US on this forum are matures enough to understand what could be the consequences of their votes:)

Thankfully some countries were able to stand up for rationality.

And yet the majority of people still can't connect this with voting...

America has a large impact on the rest of the world.. a lot of what the president does affects other countries and therefore, a negative effect = downtalk on Mr. President.... and no I don't down talk americans, I down talk the dumb ones..as i do with canadians (although I'm hardly one to talk).

you have to remember Gragoon, we are not just voting for a president on the basis if they are for or againts the war, we have domestic issues also. for instance, you could be against the war but be a prolifer or for the war but dont like high unemployment or you could be someone that gets so wealthy from the war that they become large donors to a reelection campain so that the war continues or others get started, see its very complicated <_<

americans are more disrespectful to other countries than any one else in my opinion, I am one, so it's not like I'm coming from no where, I mean, no one else trashes entire countries for speech... it's all a pretty bad situation.

the war is a thing you should really include in your vote.
i guess many people decide because of pro war or against war.

there is a possibility that bush tries to conquer more countries - well I won't be responsible for this.

have to remember that vice presidents really dont do anything at all......well actaully i think the fact that bush hasn´t been impeached for lieing (as clinton was for lieing under oath, and i think lieing that leads to a war is more unjust than lieing under oath that has nothing to do with our country) is solely based on the fact that everyone can agree that no one wants cheeny as a president.

OMG get it through your head, we are not conqueres. we didn't go over there to kill them all, We didn't go over there to westernize them, or to build large skyscrapers, to build a starbucks at every corner, to make them dress as we do. You don't even live here.

Cheney was the one who wanted Iraq, even back in 91 when he was working for Bush Sr. It wasn't about westernizing, power tripping, security, or annexation. It was about improving Halliburton's fiscal performance. Laissez-faire corporate expansion plain and simple.

The votes are really for "Cheney (feat. Bush) '04". Not that it's that much of a change, just understand that Cheney's been doin' the scene a lot longer than Bush Jr., so Bush considers him credible, and professional. Like Gandalf is to Frodo. As long as Bush's socioconservative agenda doesn't step on the toes of Cheney's interests, there won't be a problem.

* Annatar makes comment as citizen of secondary nation in iraq thing.

The reason so many non americans care is that they are taught to... i can see the presidential electrions news on tv, i can talk about in in darkened pubs over beer or in shiny bright coffee houses over a sandwich. I can walk down the street and run out of fingers to count on while adding up the no. of businesses with american roots and/or owners, and i find it funny how few people realise that cornflakes werent originally english.

Now lets put that into perspective. Theres only two times i hear about, say japan or india (youd have thought we would take an interest in india since we used to own it.) one is when someone complains about their job being stolen by manufacturing interests or call centres being moved, the other is when some kind of disaster hits (earthquake, nerve gas, civil war... its all good for a 5 min slot on itn).

Also, we in england have the problem that our leader seems to follow yours most of the time. Apart from the odd muttering about the kyoto agreement, tony (to his friends) seems to follow whoever the president happens to be at every turn. Therefore, to us... it matters!! personally i want you to all go vote ralph nader on the off chance that should he get in, our pm might chill out a bit and actually start acting like the socialist that he once claimed to be. (in particular, top up fees might go and i might not be so poor when i leave university.... never claimed I was a socialist:D)

Im not going to comment on the war in iraq. Im just explaining why feelings seem to run so strong in places where people dont get to vote on it anyway.

It's what the Bush administration did with 9/11. That quote comes from Hitler's right hand man.

edit: Not that I am going to compare Bush with Hitler or anything like that, just explaining what this is supposed to mean to Vash.

no no no, get it right.

bush didn't lie. he "mispoke." he was "misinformed."

as for the original quote. it has nothing to do with simply being evil. it has everything to do with manipulation by the administration. you (general you) would cry if we DIDN'T have a president that wanted to get things done the way he thinks is right, because so many people base what they want off of their purchasing power. negating your individual decisions with their straight-ticketing and yellowdog methods. but this is what you get when you try to convince everyone and their mom to go out and vote. problem is that many voters' only forms of political education are old ranching cliches (you don't change horses midstream, etc). if you really don't like to be manipulated then press for better candidates, or run yourself if you're capable.

what you DON'T do is get yourself left with only a choice between what billion dollar dynasty you want manipulating you.

anyone who makes a decision prior to knowing what is going on is a damn fool.

if you don't believe me. just ask chris rock. :D
