I think it might help us to have a "buy and sell" thread so we can look out for each other. If you play with someone looking for something in particular that you know one of our players has to sell you can take down a name or if they are selling something you know one of us needs you can get a name or an area where you found it (or purchase it and be repaid if they player has asked for this kind of help)
and some people would just like the first opportunity to purchase from a friend vs a stranger and then you dont have to set up merchant ;)

Hm, there's a difference between not wanting to spend the money and not having the money.
In my opinion, this selling strategy wow has, is a little unfair. But back to the topic

Make an effort to get any type of +6 jewelry. We can combine 3 of the same type to make a +7. I already have one +7 str ring. Beyond that +7 jewelry, can sell for about one million and is a good profit, because the compounding scroll is only 55k. Don't go out of your way to buy them, just if you get them from loot, keep them.

right now we're selling some ar of destruction, and recips harpoon and deepscar... (repair costs too high)
Pauldron of Destruction - 3.5 mil
Gauntlet of Destruction - 2.5 mil
Deep Scar - 76 mil
Harpoon - 74 mil
Mirage Dagger - 50 mil (or if upgraded, more:D)
