Are we legally allowed to post song clips from the bands we recommend...like 30 sec clips so people can actually gain more from what we are saying or is it copyright infringement? Anyone actually know so I don't break the law?
far away, will our eyes now see the day
for today, the everlasting eternal sun
washed away, the dreams of a brighter day
forever hold the dream inside
the chance to fight another fight
the breaking hearts that stand for all our li-i-ives
live tonight

Clips are legal. Full songs would be illegal, but then who's going to post enough to take business away? No case, no worries.
That's from my understanding of Canadian (moderately limited) and American (more limited) copyright laws. If you are actively copying (in this case, uploading for other people to download), you are violating the copyright. Nobody will care though, since they aren't A) publicly accessible, or B) causing loss of revenue (damages) in excess of some dollar threshold.

Unless a few thousand people sign up at once and download the songs, probably zero load.
30 seconds songs are small, especially when you zip them.

If you post a couple of songs, I dont think anyone would sue you. Worst case scenario is you would have to pay a couple of bucks for the song.
