That IS your external IP jabba...it's what the world sees your modem/router as.
same Javascript they use on websites to AMAZE you with their foresight.

same thing as going to www.myipaddress.com and seeing it.

I've seen that little IP thing a while back. It freaked alot of people out on the Mektek forums when it was first introduced there.

For the code did you think of trying http://www.danasoft.com. Thats where the little guy comes from.:)

You have to buy the source code there, some guy posted it on the EQ board that I still visit a while back. As for the actual sig though, it was posted a reeeeally long time ago on some board for CS.

All you have to do is include http://www.danasoft.com/vipersig.jpg within an img tag and it works. I think this is because it crabs the information from the webpage, etc as it's being loaded within it. It's not actually a picture but a generated picture.

When you try to goto that image directly, it does not work.

So, you'd just do [ IMG ]http://www.danasoftware.com/vipersig.jpg[ /IMG ] (without the spaces) in your signature and it appears.

To create your own sig in that style, goto:
http://www.danasoft.com/customsig.php

In other words, Jabba's PC has no idea that it is being masked as the external IP, because that's how networks work. They transparently do things to make connections work especially when you have multiple IP addresses behind one internet connected device (router or desktop/server machine).

Jabba PC -> 192.168.0.2
Jabba Router - Internal -> 192.168.0.1
Jabba Router - External -> eg, 81.77.98.231

I'm a general computer engineer, so networking, pc's, coding, etc. I can do it all and understand it:) One day I might think about specialising thus getting lots more money, but then I'd be bored.
